URSB GAD spearheads Seminar and Workshop Sessions

The organization of Gender and Development, together with the UNIGAD Officers and selected CCS Students, conducted Seminar and Workshop Sessions with the theme “Establishing and Enhancing Gender Awareness and Sensitivity among the Stakeholders of University of Rizal System Binangonan.”

The sessions were held at the University Multi-purpose Function Hall on November 6 and 7 for the first-year students, November 13 for the second year students and November 14 for the fourth year students. Each batch was divided into two sessions: a morning session from 08:00 am -12:00nn and an afternoon session from 12:30nn – 05:00 pm.

The seminar was led by Ms. Jesselea Lagasca, the CCS GAD Coordinator. Ms. Lagasca also served as a speaker where she discussed how Gender and Development affects modern society. Another CCS Faculty who served as a speaker was Sir Ernan De Jesus, who also discussed timely GAD issues.

Other speakers include Mrs. Mary Ann Castro, the Campus Head Nurse, Dr. Arabella Pabilobia, the Campus GAD Coordinator, Dr. Shelanie Dacumos, and Prof. Jansen San Juan. The seminar and workshop discussed topics such as how to strengthen the value of women in today’s society, stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination on different gender expressions along with health issues in GAD, specifically HIV and AIDS awareness.
