CCS HISTORY

The University of Rizal System, Binangonan Campus opened its doors to the public in 1998 with the institute of Cooperative Economics Management (ICEM) headed by Allan Anorico. After a year, (1999) the Institute of Computer Science changed its name to the Institute of Computer Science and Information Management (ICSIM) with Prof. Allan Anorico as the program head, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Associate in Computer Technology as the initial course offerings.

In 2002, new two-year courses in Information Management and Computer Education Development were introduced. The progress of the institution continued the following year as they begin to offer a new course – Bachelor of Science in Computer technology – in 2003, under Prof. Aileen Martizano.

A great breakthrough was set in the years 2007-2008 as the name of the institute was changed to College of Information Technology Management (CITM). The college was then headed by Prof. Eloisa Anorico and offered courses in Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM) and Computer System Technology (CST).

The beginning of 2009 and 2010 set a new direction for CITM as Prof. Joselito Dacumos takes over the leadership for BSIM and CST courses. However, the period of June 2010 to Dec. 2010 brought a significant change in the Administration. Prof. Beronillo took charge of the leadership and at the same time, the name of the institute changed from CITM to College of Information and Management (CIM).

From 2011- 2012, another milestone was achieved by CIM. Mrs. Grace P. San Juan took the post of OIC and continued on to take charge as the dean of the College, changing its name from CIM to College of Computer Studies (CCS) in 2013. The college started offering course programs in the following fields: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Information System and Computer Science Technology.

In October 2018, the college welcomed a new leadership under Prof. Owen T. Escuadra. CCS continues to flourish as it offers two programs: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and Bachelor of Science in Information Science (BSIS) and up to the present time the college pursues to follow its mandate to provide good quality education in computer technology.

ICSIM, Institute of Computer Science and Information Management: BS Computer Engineering(5-year) and Associate in Computer Technology (2-year) were offered.

CITM, College of Information Technology and Management. This period the born of BS Information management (4-year) and Computer System Technology (2-year).

CIM, College of Information and Management.

CCS, College of Computer Studies now offers the BS Information System (4-year) and BS Information Technology (4-year).
